We have known for a long time that high-frequency vibrations can drive catfish almost crazy. With the Bladed Cat Jig, we bring exactly these stimuli into virtually every layer of the water. The lure has been specially developed to meet the demands of modern catfish spinning and is extremely versatile. Whether retrieved steadily or worked with a classic jigging action – both methods are equally effective. At the same time, its compact design allows for impressive casting distances.
Depending on the selected head and blade size, current conditions and retrieve technique, the Bladed Cat Jig can be presented just above the bottom, in mid-water or directly below the surface. From shallow areas to depths well beyond ten metres, almost anything is possible with this lure.
The available head and blade sizes have not been combined at random, but carefully matched to one another. This is the only way to achieve the desired action and pressure waves for each specific application. Head weight, blade size and hook are perfectly matched to each other.
The Bladed Cat Jig comes fitted as standard with our 12cm Drag-Tail. Its twister tail complements the high-frequency vibrations of the blade and creates additional pressure waves. At the same time, the overall construction remains pleasantly compact, which has a positive effect on casting distance. Large trailers are often not necessary when fishing for catfish with bladed jigs. Instead, the combination of blade and Drag-Tail creates exactly the stimuli to which catfish respond particularly well.
The Drag-Tail is securely attached using a robust screw. This allows you to easily replace the soft lure if it becomes damaged by fish or if you want to experiment with different trailers.
The fitted single hook offers stability and sharpness comparable to our proven Mister Waller Hook in size S. We deliberately chose not to use a long-shank hook, as short-shank models are significantly less prone to bending open under heavy loads. The special hook attachment also ensures that the single hook remains securely in position even under high loads.
Should the hook eventually become blunt after frequent contact with rocks or numerous snags, it can easily be replaced. This is made possible by an exceptionally robust attachment mechanism made from 1.6mm stainless steel wire.
During the testing phase, it became clear that the Bladed Cat Jig does not only attract smaller catfish. From fish measuring around 60 centimetres to truly exceptional specimens, catfish of a wide range of sizes have reliably taken the lure.
