Data Privacy Declaration

We thank you for your interest in our website. Protecting your privacy is very important to us. In the following document, we will provide you with complete information on how we handle your data.

Saving access data in server log files

You can visit our website without providing personal information. We will only save your access data in so-called server log files. This access data will include the name of the file requested, the date and time of the request, the amount of data transferred, and the requesting provider. This data will only be evaluated to ensure the error-free operation of our page and to improve our service offerings, and provides us no personal information about you.

Data collection and use for contract implementation and when opening a customer account

We collect personal data when you provide it to us voluntarily while making an order, when getting into contact with us (e.g. via our contact form or via e-mail), or when opening a customer account. The specific data collected is clear from the input form. We use the data you transmit to us for implementing contracts and for answering your inquiries. After the full implementation of the contract, or after the deletion of your customer account, we will lock your data for any further use and delete it following the expiration of the obligatory storage period stipulated under tax and commercial law, if you have not expressly authorized the continued use of your data or if we have reserved the right to use the data in another manner that is allowed by law and that has been explained to you in the following. You can delete your customer account at any time, either by sending a message to the contact options described below or through the function provided for this purpose in the customer account itself.

Data transfers for contractual fulfillment

We transfer your data to the shipping companies hired to execute deliveries for the purposes of fulfilling our contracts, insofar as this data is required to deliver the items ordered. In order to complete payments, we transfer the necessary payment data to the credit institute tasked with the payment, as well as to any payment service providers commissioned by us, as well as to any payment services you select during the order process.

Data usage in signing up for the e-mail newsletter

When you sign up for our newsletter, we use the data required for this purpose or provided separately by you to send you our e-mail newsletter on a regular basis. You can revoke your subscription to the newsletter at any time, either by sending a message to the contact options described below or through the link provided for this purpose in the newsletter itself.

Data usage in postal advertising and your right to object

Furthermore, we reserve the right to save your first and last names, your postal address and - insofar as we have received this additional information from you within the framework of our contractual relationship - your title, academic degree, year of birth, and your profession, industry, or business in comprehensive lists in order to use it for our own advertising purposes, for instance in sending interested parties offers and information on our products via the postal service. You can object to the storage and use of your data for these purposes at any time by sending a message to the contact persons indicated below.

Credit assessments and scores when selecting Klarna as a payment option

If you have selected Klarna’s payment service “Klarna Rechnung und Klarna Ratenkauf” (Klarna invoicing and Klarna installment purchases) as your payment option, you have authorized that we collect and transfer all data necessary for an identity and credit check and for the completion of your credit purchase, such as first and last name, address, date of birth, sex, e-mail address, IP address, telephone number, data necessary for the completion of the credit purchase, and data associated with the purchase, such as the number of items, item numbers, invoiced amount, and percentage of tax. This data is transferred in order to allow Klarna to create an invoice for the completion of your purchase through the invoicing method selected by you and to complete an identity and credit check. In this regard, and in accordance with the Federal Data Protection Act, Klarna has a legitimate interest in the transfer of the personal data of the purchaser, and requires this data for the purpose of completing an identity and credit check with credit agencies. In Germany, these may include the following credit agencies:

  • Bürgel Wirtschaftsinformationen GmbH & Co. KG, Postfach 5001 66, 22701 Hamburg
  • Creditreform Boniversum GmbH, Hellersbergstraße 11, 41460 Neuss
  • Deltavista GmbH, Freisinger Landstr. 74 80939 München
  • Arvato Infoscore Consumer Data GmbH and Infoscore Consumer Data GmbH, Rheinstraße 99, 76532 Baden-Baden
  • SCHUFA Holding AG, Kormoranweg 5, 65201 Wiesbaden

As part of its decisions regarding the justification, implementation, or completion of the contractual relationship, in addition to an address check, Klarna also records and uses information regarding prior payment behavior by the purchaser, as well as probability values regarding his behavior in the future. Klarna’s calculation of these score values is based on a scientifically recognized mathematical and statistical process. Klarna will use your address data as well for this process. If this calculation shows that your credit standing is not sufficient, Klarna will inform you of this promptly.

Revocation of Klarna’s use of personal data

1. You may revoke your authorization to Klarna for the use of personal data at any time. Klarna does, however, continue to retain the right to process, use, and transfer your personal data, insofar as necessary for the contractual completion of your payment through Klarna’s services, insofar as legally stipulated, or insofar as required by a court or an agency.

2. Of course, you can receive information regarding the personal data saved by Klarna at any time. This right is guaranteed by the Federal Data Protection Act. If you would like to inform Klarna of your request in this regard or of any changes with regards to your saved data, you can email Datenschutz@klarna.de.

Use of Google Analytics for web analysis

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (www.google.de). Use of Facebook plug-ins

Our website uses so-called social plug-ins (”Plug-ins”) from the social network Facebook, operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (”Facebook”). These Plug-ins are designated with a Facebook logo or the additional phrase “Social Plug-in by Facebook” or “Facebook Social Plug-in.” You can find an overview of the Facebook Plug-ins and what they look like here: http://developers.facebook.com/plugins

If you call up another webpage that includes a similar Plug-in, your browser creates a direct connection to the Facebook servers. The content of this Plug-in is transferred directly from Facebook to your browser and linked to the page. Through this link, Facebook receives the information that your browser has called up our webpage, even if you don’t have a Facebook profile or aren’t logged into Facebook at the time. This information (including your IP address) is transferred from your browser directly to a Facebook server in the USA and stored there.

If you are logged into Facebook, Facebook can associate your visit to our website directly with your Facebook profile. When you interact with the Plug-ins, for instance by clicking the “Like” button or adding a comment,  this information is also transferred directly to a Facebook server and saved there. This information is published outside of your Facebook profile and displayed to your Facebook friends.

Please see the Facebook Data Privacy Policy for questions regarding the purpose and extent of this data collection and the further processing and use of data by Facebook, as well as on your rights and setting options in this regard to protect your privacy. http://www.facebook.com/policy.php

If you do not want Facebook to associate data collected through our webpage directly with your Facebook profile, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website. You can also entirely block Facebook Plug-ins from loading with browser add-ons, for instance with the “Facebook Blocker” (http://webgraph.com/resources/facebookblocker/) or the script blocker “NoScript” (http://noscript.net/).

If you have given us your express consent during or after placing an order, by activating the appropriate check box for this purpose or by clicking a button provided, we will use your e-mail address to remind you to leave us a review of your purchase through our evaluation system. You may revoke this permission at any time by sending a message to the contact options provided below.

Right to information and contact options

You have the right to receive information about the personal data we save free of charge, as well as a right to correct, block, or delete this data. If you have any questions regarding the collection, processing, or use of your personal data, if you have information or corrections, or if you would like to block or delete your data,  revoke authorizations provided, or object to a particular use of your data, please contact us directly through the contact information in our legal notice.
