This material is called A1 and was developed by the Japanese manufacturer specifically for the production of hooks. The Gamakatsu - A1 G-Carp Super hooks are also made from A1. This is a high carbon steel that contains a high proportion of tungsten and vanadium and is completely free of impurities. After production, the hooks are heated and cooled in oil. The material and tempering make the Gamakatsu - A1 G-Carp Super hooks 20 % harder and 25 % stronger than steel hooks. Hooks made of inferior material are usually weak and tend to dull very quickly. This is impossible with A1 G-Carp Super hooks thanks to the high-quality A1 material. Even after prolonged use, the A1 does not become brittle in any way and the hook point remains consistently sharp.
The high carbon hooks from Gamakatsu are not only extremely strong and hard, but also last twice as long as conventional steel hooks. The Gamakatsu - A1 G-Carp Super hook has an inward-facing hook point. It is particularly suitable for all assemblies with shrink tubing. The Gamakatsu single hook is available in different sizes.
