Large, spacious bivvies are particularly suitable for longer sessions starting from one night by the water. The increased dimensions compared to 1-person tents naturally result in higher weight, larger packed size, and longer setup times.
To ensure sufficient space inside the bivvy even during multi-day sessions in adverse weather conditions, we recommend minimum dimensions of 275cm x 300cm with a minimum height of 150cm for 2-man bivvies.
If your fishing spot allows or tolerates it, XXL tents (you can find our XXL range here), which are especially great thanks to their 180cm standing height, are ideal for longer trips.
When purchasing your bivvy, make sure it has adequate ventilation panels at the front and rear of the tent to effectively release heat in the summer without letting in mosquitoes.
The choice of tent material depends entirely on your available budget. Simple, affordable nylon tents with a water column rating of less than 5,000mm are usually sufficient for occasional anglers. Anaconda, JRC, and Mivardi offer good entry-level products starting at €200.
If you plan to fish through days of heavy rain, a high-quality bivvy with breathable, waterproof fabric with a water column rating of 10,000mm to 25,000mm is recommended. Premium products from brands like Fox, Trakker, Nash, and Aqua offer comparable systems that start at around €500.
