Matze fell in love with these multiple carabiners when trolling natural baits from a boat and when fishing for eels. They are actually designed to prevent twisting when trolling or fishing with a spinner, or to make it more difficult for the eel to blow up the line when it turns like a drill when landing. However, because Matze is often too lazy to rebuild, he now uses them for almost all fishing methods. What's more, a pike can turn around its own axis in a frightening manner during a fight. This swivel effectively prevents the line from twisting.
