We'll be honest - until we were presented with the first sample in our shop, we had no idea that the Italian brand Dayko existed.
But from the very first second we were impressed by the concept and the quality of the pods. We were particularly taken with the Dayko Bitube, which we would like to introduce to you today.
The concept of the pod is simple and convincing - simple technology combined with outstanding quality. Due to the low production volume, the Dayko pods are truly exotic. We are the first dealer in Germany to be authorised to sell the Rod Pods.
The Compact Bitubo Rod Pods are made entirely of top quality aluminium, all screws and arms of the buzzer bars are made of stainless steel. Only components without a direct function, namely the adjustment levers of the pod, are made of a plastic composite for reasons of haptics.
The base of the rod pod consists of an extremely stable centre block, which is of course infinitely adjustable. The inclination can be infinitely adjusted with just one hand movement. A flat structure becomes a high pod in seconds.
The central joint is made from a single piece of aluminium and all joints are connected with stainless steel pins to ensure durability and resistance to all weather conditions.
Four infinitely variable telescopic legs give the pod a secure stand, regardless of the surface at the spot.
The buzzer bars, which are designed for up to 5 rods, are securely fixed in place using a Quick Lock mechanism with just two screws. The inclination of the buzzer bars is infinitely adjustable at the mount to the centre rods.
The two centre tubes, which secure the pod against twisting, can be telescoped on both sides to adapt the rod pod to both the conditions on site and the rod length.
The scope of delivery includes a high-quality bag with a removable buzzer bar bag and additional inner pockets for accessories such as swingers, backleads etc.
Our verdict:
For us, the Dayko Bitube is one of the best rod pods on the market. Thanks to its design and the quality of the materials used, the pod always stands like a rock in the surf. Admittedly, it is not really compact and therefore less suitable for mobile anglers who prioritise weight and transport dimensions.
For everyone else who prefers the flexibility and stability of a ‘real’ rod pod, the Dayko Bitube Rod Pod is probably the best rod pod on the market.
However, we did find one minimal point of criticism. Unfortunately, an extremely flat setup is not possible. Dayko has dispensed with additional adjustment of the feet here - in favour of stability and durability.
