The lead keeps the line away from the bottom and ensures a perfect bite indication. Indispensable in muddy or weedy waters: The lead sinks in, but the line guide remains free. The large eyelet also allows 0.38 mm monofilament lines to glide through smoothly without offering resistance to the pike when picking up the bait.
