Gamakatsu - A1 G-Carp Specialist T/C hooks are made from A1 material. This is a material that Gamakatsu has developed specifically for hook manufacture. Gamakatsu's A1 material is a high carbon steel that contains components such as tungsten and vanadium and is absolutely free of impurities. This material makes Gamakatsu hooks 20 % stronger and 25 % harder than a hook made from conventional steel. These outstanding properties of the A1 material are achieved not only by the special material composition, but also by a special technology for hardening the material. The Gamakatsu - A1 G-Carp Specialist T/C hooks are given a Teflon coating after manufacture in a special process, which not only makes them less conspicuous, but also protects them against rust. However, the most important function of the Teflon coating is to reduce the magnetic radiation of the hooks.
